Greece’s public sector union umbrella ADEDY issued a statement on Tuesday, stressing that public services will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, May 13, 2026, due to the 24-hour nationwide strike. However, public transport means will operate as usually, since workers are not covered by the ADEDY.
In response to publications and postings, ADEDY clarified that Public Transport is not part of the public sector and its employees are not unionized by ADEDY
Public sector workers will go on a nationwide, all-civil service strike tomorrow, Wednesday, May 13, with a protest rally at Klafthmonos Square in downtown Athens at 10.30 in the morning, as well as demonstrations in all cities of the country.
Therefore, tomorrow’s strike mobilization does not affect the normal operation of public transport, which is expected to operate without changes to its routes.
