Flight passengers experienced the sheer horror on Friday morning, when an airplane window broke and a passenger almost fell into the void. The Ryanair flight had departed the airport of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, for Munich in Germany.
According to state broadcaster ERT, the flight was already in the air when a loud noise was heard and a window broke, resulting in a passenger being injured.

Citing eyewitnesses, ERT reported that a few minutes after the aircraft took off and while the plane was in the air, a noise was heard, a window broke and the passenger sitting right next to the window apparently almost half fell out of the plane.

Speaking to local media rthess.gr, an eyewitness said that the masks fell off, the passengers started screaming inside the plane and put on their masks to get oxygen.
Thοse sitting next to the 61-year-old man managed to keep him inside the aircraft and prevent him from being sucked out.
The pilot reassured the passengers and turned the aircraft around returning to “Macedonia Airport,” where he landed it in safety. Fire fighting vehicles and ambulances were deployed in the area.
The injured man, a 61-year-old national of North Macedonia, was taken to hospital and was in a state of shock while he suffered a neck problem. Three more passengers, among them a pregnant woman, were reportedly taken to hospital for precautionary reasons.
According to initial information, it seems that a piece of one engine broke and was detached, hit and broke the window, causing the whole problem.
Ryanair dispatched another airplane so that passengers could reach their destination.
Aviation authorities are investigating the issue.
