So far police has detained more than 24 people.

Roads around Syntagma had been closed to traffic.

Several thousands people followed the call of public and private labor unions ADEDY and GSEE for a 24h strike and demonstration in Athens. People protested the IMF/EU/ECB-imposed austerity measures that have driven thousands of Greeks to dire economic situation.

Protesters were shouting slogans like “We pay for you, you should do something for us too!”

Greek journalists joined the strike so there are no many news today.
