Short after Prime Minister Antonis Samaras announced that early election will take place on January 25th 2015, Pierre Moscovici, Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and Customs, issued a statement urging voters to support Europe. In his statement Moscovici claimed that the reforms are “growth-friendly”, there where millions of Greeks read “unemployment” and “hunger-salaries.”
“European Commission – Statement
Brussels, 29 December 2014
Following the third vote on a new President in the Parliament today, the Greek government has just announced general elections on 25 January. Through this democratic process, the Greek people will once again decide on their future. A strong commitment to Europe and broad support among the Greek voters and political leaders for the necessary growth-friendly reform process will be essential for Greece to thrive again within the euro area.” (EC website)
This is not a statement, this is intervention… but we, Greeks, are sued to such advices and guidance, veiled and open threats.
Intervention? You ain’t seen nothing yet!
it was just the hors d’oeuvre… or even the amuse-bouche lol
hmmm….. EU. Growth.
err…
Don’t make me laugh.
No growth. Lack of investment to produce growth. Massive deflation right there in front of us all.
