Sinister trade: Food Merchant offers jobless mother of two “free meat” for “flesh”

A sinister trade. A wealthy merchant in the city of Patras, in western Greece, offered an impoverished mother of two “meat for free” if she would agree to give him her …”flesh.”

The mother of two underage children and divorcee has been suffering from the impact of long-time unemployment, she was struggling to make ends meet and feed her children. The 40-year-old woman has been having debts to the merchant and when she went to his shop for one more time to buy meat, the man refused to sell on credit saying that her debt was already much too high.

Local media PatrasTimes.gr reports that the merchant came up with an offer on how the woman could secure food for her kids and in a way pay back her debts: “The two could meet privately early afternoons and have fun.”

The woman was reportedly shocked and started weeping, she left the shop and tried elsewhere to find food but in vain. However, she returned to the merchant’s shop in early afternoon; she had accepted his offer “meat for flesh” in order to keep getting groceries without paying. The merchant closed the shop doors for the traditional noon break.

While the merchant was having fun in a back room of the store, the merchant’s adult sons returned to the shop from the company’s warehouse and caught their father inflagranti with the woman.

The sons got angry and when the woman revealed the ‘trade’, the situation got out of control, one of the two sons attacked the father and punched him.

At the end, the woman won the case: the merchant’s sons offered her groceries for free, thus bypassing the business owner.

In the small local community in the south part of the city of Patras, the merchant is a prominent personality known for his ‘philanthropic activities.’

PS Now he is also known for exploiting impoverished women and taking advantage of their situation.
