Dozens of fire fighters gave struggling against big wild fires in Ilia and Corinthia, Pelopponese, on the island of Crete and Avlona in Attica that broke out on Saturday.
According to a report by the Greek Fire Service, 130 wild fires broke out in the last 24 hours with the biggest one in Avlona. 55 firefighter and 24 fire trucks have been trying to take the blaze in an inaccessible area under control.
On the island of Crete, a total of 22 wild fires broke out, with the biggest one to have occurred in Strovles, Kissamos.

According to latest information, there is no active fire front on Sunday morning, however, ten fire fighters with four vehicle operate in the area.
Stormy South winds reaching locally up to 9 Beaufort have helped the spreading of the wild fires.
In Peloponnese, three men aged 70, 68 and 34, are to be taken to prosecutor of Pyrgos, Ilia, on Sunday, for having caused fires out of negligence in agricultural and forest land in Agioi Apostoloi, Aspra Spitia and Pisa.
As the stormy winds are expected to continue in the next days, Greece’s Fire Service and Civil Protection warn citizens to refrain form activities that can cause wild fires.
