Α 20-year-old Irish national was found dead in the pool of a club in Laganas on the island of Zakynthos. The young man was spending summer vacations with his friends in the Ionian Sea.
While police on the island investigates the causes of his death, a waitress told state broadcaster ERT that she saw him “he was pale and trembling” and the next moment, until she fixed two drinks “he was in the pool.”

The club owner who is also a life rescuer immediately jumped into the pool and performed CPA. “The young man was already dead, he did not spit out any water,” the owner told Ionian TV.
The incident took place around 10 o’ clock on Sunday night. The well-known venue was organizing parties 6-11 p.m. thus keeping all safety measures.
The young man was transferred with a private ambulance to a hospital where doctors could only confirm his death.
His body will undergo an autopsy in Patras, north-western Peloponnese.
The young man was initially reported as “British tourist”, however, according to local media he was an Irish national.

Hemorrhagic pulmonary edema is the cause of the tragic death of a 20-year-old tourist, who died in a club pool on Sunday.
According to state broadcaster ERT, the edema was found during the autopsy performed on the body of the young man by forensic authorities in Patras.
The results of toxicological tests are awaited in order to establish the causes of the edema.
However, the toxicological results will be out in about 2 months.
