“Turkish threat is not theoretical, it is real” said Greek Defense Minister Panos Beglitis during a visit to Cyprus. “We see it on the Aegean Sea, We see it in Cyprus through the occupational presence of the Turkish army, a result of the invasion in 1974.”
Also Begliti’s predecessorEvangelos Venizelos said last December that Greece “faces an active threat from neighboring Turkey, at the same time, Greece is the main advocate of Turkey’s European perspective.” (see more here )
With Greek-Turkish relations being rather neutral and indifferent in recent times, thank God, that our defense ministers remind us where we stand on the Turkey.
