Greek Parliament approves cutting state funding to Golden Dawn

Greek Parliament voted in favor of amendment to cut cutting off state funding to Golden Dawn. 235 out of 300 MPs vote in favor, 34 vote “present”, among them Independent Greeks and at least one SYRIZA MP.

Golden Dawn MPs left the plenary hall during the voting. Party spokesman Ilias Kassidiaris, described the voting as “illegal and against the Constitution.” The funding might be cut off “but you can not stop our legal struggle, the  social struggle,” he added.

GD leader and two more MPs are in custody while three more MPs are free on bail. Earlier this month PM Samaras decided to crack down on Golden Dawn after the murder of leftist rapper Pavlos Fyssas
