The union of port workers has announced a 24-hour strike for Thursday, November 6th 2014. It is mainly the port workers of Piraeus who want to protest the privatization of several ports and port institutions. The union plans a protest meeting and a march to Greek Finance Ministry to start at 12 o’clock noon at Klafthmonos square in downtown Athens.
As I am not sure whether this strike will affect the commercial marine traffic, please, check with port authorities and travel agents – just in case.
