Brutal killing of dog by car driver captured on video; reward offered ATT: Graphic Content!!!

The brutal killing of an old dog by a driver on a road in Gastouni by Ilia, Peloponnese has triggered an outrage Greece, while with animal welfare societies offer a reward of a few thousands euros for information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrator.

A local animal welfare organization has uploaded the brutal video that was capture by security cameras of a house on the roadside.

It is early evening on June 18, 2026, and an old dog is slowly walking in the middle of the road. A grey-silver car comes from the opposite side, approaches the point where the dog is, it is slowing down and it stops in front of it for a few seconds. The driver looks at the animal, it restarts the car and runs over the dog with the front wheels and also with the back ones, before driving away from the scene.

The car drives away, while the dog lays dead behind.

The car’s license plates are not visible in the video, it is unclear whether the driver is a man or a woman, and the blur face of another person sitting in the back seat is to be seen.

Police is seeking the perpetrator.

The unthinkable brutality occurred on June 18, 2026 in the Station area in Gastouni and has been reported to the Pinios Police Department, while the authorities have already launched an investigation to identify the driver of the car that killed the dog.

Animal rights activists offer a reward of 3,000 euros.

The incident has triggered an outrage across the country, all TV channels broadcast the video, authorities and police have been mobilized of the Authorities.

The Animal Protection Department of the Greek Police has been informed. It has ordered the investigation of the case and the search for the driver, however, the fact that the license plate is not clearly visible in the material makes identification difficult.

At the same time, residents of the area are appealing via social media to anyone who recognizes the vehicle or has information about the incident to contact the competent authorities.

The residents report that the animal had lived in the neighborhood for almost two decades and had become a point of reference for the locals, who took care of it on a daily basis.

According to Law 4830/2021, the killing of a companion animal constitutes a felony and carries particularly severe penalties, which can reach up to ten years in prison, as well as a fine of 30,000 to 50,000 euros.

The authorities’ investigations are in full swing, with the aim of identifying the driver of the vehicle and fully clarifying the circumstances under which the tragic incident occurred.
