Writer Menis Koumantreas was strangled to death, the coroner said on Monday after having conducted an autopsy. According to the coroner the body had “severe injuries in the head and internal bleeding in the abdomen.”
Citing police sources, media report that most probably the perpetrator was lurking at 83-year-old Koumanatreas who had visited a coffee house near his home in Kypseli district of Athens. There are allegedly indications that the perpetrator may have attacked the writer in the elevator, while neighbors said that they heard voices at the time of the crime.
