Turkish fans booed the silent minute held for the victims of Paris attack on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred short before the friendly soccer match between Greece and Turkey kicked off in Basaksehir Stadium in Istanbul. Present were Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and his Greek counterpart Alexis Tsipras who was in official visit to Turkey.
The referee had given the signal for a minute of silence in memory of the 129 victims of terrorists in the carnage of Paris last Friday.
Immediately a part of the Turkish fans stated booing and chanted “soldiers never die, country never divide”, according to Golazo HD who uploaded the video on youtube. However some media noted that the fans chanted also “Allahu Akbar”, the Islamic phrase for “God is great.”

17,000 tickets were sold for the match. It was apparently only part of the Turkish fans who ‘disapproved’ the silent minute for the 129 victims of terrorists – even though there is a hell of a noise to hear.
Turkey manager Fatih Terim was quoted as saying: ‘Our fans should have behaved during the one minute silence.’
“The mark of respect was observed at matches across Europe, including at Wembley where France faced England, after Islamic State militants struck Paris on Friday killing 129 people,” Reuters notes.
