Government passes “red loans” bill with 153 votes

SYRIZA-ANEL government survived also the voting of the multi-bill that opens the way for Distress Funds to buy non-performing loans from the banks. The purchase of “red loans: is expected to lead to closure of thousands of enterprises and the loss of thousands of work places.

The bill passed with a thin majority as the Greek coalition has only 153 seats in a Parliament of 300.

The government came under fierce attack by the opposition parties, also by PASOK and New Democracy with the first to have brought the IMF in Greece and have signed two Loan Agreements with the creditors and the second to have zealously implemented austerity cuts. While in the government, PASOK and New Democracy avoided to implement “hot potatoes” like the “red loans” and now SYRIZA-ANEL has to proceed with all the austerity measures that were not implemented since 2010.

But it is always the role of the opposition to criticize the governments’ decisions, right?

What PASOK and New Democracy started it is now up to SYRIZA-ANEL to finish.

  1. What PASOK and New Democracy started it is now up to SYRIZA-ANEL to finish.

hmmm… SYRIZA could, alternatively, grow some balls and tell the whole bunch of them, EU, IMF etc where to go, and implement a different policy, as they always promised they would. But then, that does of course require having a policy, a little detail they seem to have forgotten to address, which does indeed leave them no other choice but to finish the dirty work and end up with the well deserved dirt on their hands…

  2. Totally agree Eph , except: the SYRIZA balls – and brains – abandoned the party after 13 July. Some zombie-quislings using the same party name (though its not the same party) are what’s left.

Meanwhile we have FREE entertainment watching the other traitors give them a hard time, slime balls vs slime balls, in toto the left-right Dregs Brigade. Not unlike female mud wrestling…
