Lesvos City Hall turns off lights, flies flags half-mast for Manchester victims

Lesvos’ City Hall turned its lights off and flew the Greek and EU flags half-mast as a message of solidarity and mourning for the terror attack in Manchester on Monday night that left 22 people dead and dozens injured.

“The people in Lesvos are shocked by the tragedy in Manchester. Personally, not only as a mayor who represents the people of the island, but also as a parent, I am shocked by the terrorist act that cost the lives for children,” said Lesvos mayor Spyros Galinos.

“With this symbolic gesture at the City Hall, the people of Lesbos want to declare their mourning for the victims in Manchester and their sympathy to their relatives,” he said, adding the flags will fly half-mast for three days. (lesvosnews.net)
