The body of retired US lawyer Bob Mayer missing on the island of Tinos, Cyclades, since last November was found on Sunday. His body in advanced decomposition was found by a local in a ravine in the area of Kossini.His clothes and personal belongings were recognized by his wife, Gayle.
The body of the 69-year-old was found by a local, a professional photographer, around one kilometer away from where also his car was found.
Bob Mayer was missing since 19. November 2017, when he went for a ride with his car.
He was last seeing in the village of Agios Fokas village where he has been living in the last year together with his wife, also a US national.
Two days later, a garbage trick driver had found Mayer’s car.
A month later, his wife had turned to a Greek private TV magazine Fos Sto Tounel (Light in the tunnel) that helps finding missing persons,.
The body is to be transferred to Piraeus on the mainland for an autopsy.
According to preliminary information, the body did not have any signs hinting to a crime.
The couple had married a year ago and settled from New York on the island of Tinos one year before Bob Mayer went missing.
