A huge waterspout was formed on the island of Poros in the Saronic Gulf on September 20th 2018. Medicane Zorbas had started already to strike South-West Greece, when this phenomenons occurred.
The video was uploaded by Giannis Dimitriadis, the mayor of Poros.
The waterspout occurred at 2 p.m. Saturday in the area of Askeli beach. It brought down trees and power cables, caused material damages and power outages.
Another shot of the waterspout by Vaggelis Dinopoulos.
When the cyclone passed over the island later in the evening, the strong winds and the rainfalls sank some boats in the port, caused minor rockfalls.
…and created some rivers where none were before.

The island survived Medicane Zorbas with not much damage or floods as other areas in Greece.
