Greek police arrested well-known shipowner Alexandros Agoudimos on Thursday night for debts to the state, media report.
The ship-owner was driving on an avenue in Piraeus, when members of the motorcycled DIAS teams stopped him for what it seemed a routine control.
Policemen found out that he was convicted for debts to the state and the sentences were pending, news247.gr reports.
He was taken to the local police station where he spent the night.
According to kathimerini, he appeared before the prosecutor on Friday morning.
Local media have not reported so far about the outcome of Agoudimos with legal authorities.
The shipping company Agoudimos Lines stopped its operation in 2013 due to financial difficulties.
