A truly …nice Greek atmosphere at the plenary of Greece’s private sector unions umbrella GSEE.The hall turned into a boxing match, after unionists of the Confederation delivered a scuffle with members of the Communist party union PAME.
Swears flew through the air, punches ended on shoulders, some unionists left with bruises… State ERT TV that was broadcasting Live, had turned off the sound from the plenary saying “such words cannot be broadcast.”
PAME accused the GSEE leadership of “employers’ unionism” claiming that the Confederation allows “unionists who represent the employers’ interests,” with the union to reject such claims.
It is the second time in just a couple of days that the dispute has ended in a body-to-body battle.
Last Friday, the big GSEE conference in Kalamata had to be cancelled, after the ill-tempered unionists decided that punches speak louder than words and arguments.
Also the plenary on Wednesday was cancelled.
