With a post on his official website, famous street artist Banksy said that the exhibition of his works in Athens is not authorized by him. Urging the public to “treat these exhibitions accordingly,” the artist writes:
“Members of the public should be aware there has been a recent spate of Banksy exhibitions non of which are consensual. They’ve been organized entirely without the artist’s knowledge or involvement. please treat them accordingly.”
Athens is not the only place where unauthorized Banksy’s exhibitions take place. Also Madrid, Berlin, Moscow, Milan, Miami are featured on the artist’s list of exhibitions taking place without his knowledge or involvement.
