Police identifies four out of five men who attacked Afghan minors

Greek police has identified four of the five men who attacked a group of Afghan refugee minors in Konitsa, North Greece,  a week ago. On of the attacker sis allegedly a member of a far-right extremist party.

In a statement, the Greek Police said that the identified are one 30-year-old man and three teenagers, all 17 years old. Investigation continues for the identification of another person that was involved in the incident.

According to state news agency amna, the 30-year-old is allegedly member of the far-right party Golden Dawn.

Police filed against the four for the offenses of unprovoked physical harm, threat, verbal abuse and theft with the aggravating circumstance of the racist characteristic of the acts.

Wearing hoods and armed with clubs, the five attacked a group of Afghan refugee minors playing basketball at the reception center for unaccompanied minors in Konitsa last Sunday.

One of the children suffered a broken arm and bruises on his legs, another suffered a shock during the attack. They were both treated at the health center of the town in north-west Greece, later transferred to the hospital in Ioannina. They were discharged the next day.
