Greek aircraft conduct test flights in North Macedonia airspace

Aircraft from the Greek Air Force performed test flights in the air space of North Macedonia on Tuesday. The first test flight was conducted in the context of the NATO Air Policing mission aiming to safeguard airspace.

The test flight was conducted by an F-16 from the 110 Combat Wing based in Larissa, Central Greece.

Greece and North Macedonia had signed an agreement for this purpose.

According to North-Macedonian news agency MIA, the test flights were made in the morning as part of the “preparation and fulfillment of the conditions of the Republic of Northern Macedonia in the aviation section as an equal member of the collective security system,” said the Ministry of Defense of Northern Macedonia.

The purpose of the flights was to check whether there are “dead” sectors in the country and to examine the compatibility of the detection systems.
