The Greek Civil Protection has published a warning of “very high risk” of wildfires in several regions of Greece due to high temperatures and powerful winds up to 6-7 Beaufort and locally up to 8-9.
The Civil Protection warning is valid for Saturday, June 28, 2019, draws attention to the “very high risk” of wildfires in following regions on the mainland and the islands:
Attica, Viotia, Evia, Skyros, Lesvos, Chios, Samos, Ikaria, Lakonia (Peloponnese), Kythera and Crete.
Colors explanation: Green = Low Risk, Blue = Moderate Yellow = High, Orange = Very High, Red = Alert Situation
The Civil Protection and the Fire Service urge citizens to refrain from certain outdoors actions that can spark wildfires.

Through out the wildfires period from May until end October:
❌We do not throw lit cigarettes
❌We do not burn garbage or dry grass and tree branches outdoors
❌We do not light up outdoor grills in the woods or in places where there is dry grass.
