Greece’s National Meteorological Service EMY issued an urgent weather warning of rainfalls, strong thunderstorms, hail and powerful winds for August 15-16, 2019.
Analytically regions affected by the bad weather front are:
Thursday, August 15
As of noon: West and Central Macedonia, Thessaly and gradually also East Macedonia.
The weather phenomena will weaken at night.
Friday, August 16
As of the afternoon, Central Macedonia, mainly Halkidiki, East Macedonia, Thrace.
As of the evening: the Sporades islands, and possibly the islands of North-East Aegean Sea.
The phenomena will weaken in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 17.
Wednesday, August 14, seems to be the last day of soaring temperatures that have been striking the country since last week.
