Ex Estonian president appointed as advisor to Greece’s digital governance

The former president of Estonia, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, who successfully turned his country into the most advanced digital society in the world during his term in office, is to take over as an advisor to Minister of State and Digital Governance Kyriakos Pierrakakis.

He will serve on an expert committee that will draw up Greece’s “digital bible”, namely the country’s strategy for digital transformation.

The ministry’ goal is for the project to be ready by the end of the year and an international network to be created that will offer access to companies in order to invest in Greece, state news agency amna reported.

In parallel, among the digital governance ministry’s priorities is a simplification of procedures, interoperability, cyber security and to ‘invest’ in the startup enterprises ecosystem.
