The body of the young British hiker who went missing in Northern Greece on Sunday, September 8th 2019, was found on Wednesday.
The body was found in a difficult to access mountainous area “Astraka” on Pappigos Mountain in Epirus.
According to local media information, the 26-year-old man had most likely fallen into a gorge during hiking and was killed.
The young man had left his hotel room in Konitsa saying that he was going hiking in the mountainous region of Zagoria.
His parents tried to reach him per phone all through the day on Sunday. As he did not respond to their calls, his father called the European Emergency Number <112> on Monday.
A rescue operation was immediately launched in which rescuers, firefighters, policemen and volunteers participated.
His car was found on Monday evening near the village of Mikros Pappigos.
The Search And Rescue operation continued until Wednesday, when this body was found in early afternoon.
Efforts to recover the body are underway.
