A powerful thunderstorm stroke the island of Corfu in the Ionian Sea, in the night from Wednesday to Thursday. 1,046 thunderbolts fell from midnight until 3 o’ clock in the morning.

The electric discharged continued during the day, with a total of 12,000 thunderbolts to have fallen in the broader area by 4 o’ clock Thursday afternoon. 4,000 of them fell in Greek territory.
The bad weather front came from the West, Malta and South Italy, and extended up to 500 miles, reaching Corfu and Albania.
The rainy and stormy weather will continue also on Friday, November 8, and will affect almost the whole of the country.
