Greeks in many parts of the country woke up surrounded by a snow landscape. Temperature sharply decreased and snowfalls occurred mainly in mountainous and semi-mountainous regions of Macedonia and Thrace as well as in lower altitude areas, while mountainous regions in Central Greece have been also covered white. In several municipalities in East Macedonia and Thrace schools are closed. Snow came late this year, after a very rainy November.
Snow fell in Oraiokastro and Hortiatis by Thessaloniki.


Dressed in white are Pilio, Trikala, Kozani and Florina.


The lowest temperatures were recorded in Kaimaktsalan mountain with -4.8 degrees Celsious and Lailia by Serres with -3.3 C.
