Athens Christmas Lights Deco: Morse Code or Fly Light Killers? (POLL)

This year’s Christmas decoration on one of the biggest avenues in downtown Athens has citizens wondering: Are the lights some kind of encrypted message in Morse Code or just simple fly light killers? Instead of the usual Christmas lights in yellow warm color and in the shape of stars and bells… this!

Athenians who use Vasilissis Sophias Avenue are puzzled and try to understand what is the symbolic between the flat lines in blue and white and Christmas.

The Municipality of Athens has neither given an explanation nor taken position on the issue that has sparked many negative comments on social media in the last 2-3 days.

It should be recalled that this year, the new mayor, Costas Bakoyiannis, has asked for sponsors to help with the Christmas decoration of the Greek capital.

So maybe a sponsor had these lamps in stock as nobody wanted to buy them.

Or this is a pre-taste of the “1821-2021 celebrations” and the symbolic has to to with the Greek Flag. Or have the aliens taken the city over?

Anyway, I prefer the Morse Code explanation than the one of the Fly Killers.

In this sense, I can wish you  — . .-. .-. -.– / -.-. …. .-. .. … – — .- …  and a Happy New Year.

On such a crucial issue, we definitely need your opinion. Of course.

What are these Christmas Deco Lights?

State-broadcaster ERT reported on Friday morning that the sponsor of the lights is the Onassis Foundation that has said the decoration has not concluded yet and we should be patient.
