28 new confirmed coronavirus cases have been recorded in Greece in the last 24 hours, and among them are 7 imported, health authorities announced on Thursday. The total infections stand at 3,458.
No new death in the past 48 hours, the death toll remains at 192.
New Cases – Geographical distribution
Majority of the new infections are in Xanthi, 10 new confirmed cases. The restrictive measures have been extended for seven more days.
2 new cases are in Kastoria, Western Macedonia, 2 in Rodopi, Thrace, 3 in Drama, northern Greece, 2 in Larissa, central Greece, 1 in Kozani, west Macedonia and 1 in Attica.
7 of the new confirmed cases are imported. Among them is a traveler from India who reached Greece via a transit in the Netherlands.
The 64-eayr-old wife of an infected Greek-American has also tested positive and is hospitalized in Heraklio, Crete, like her husband. The couple was on the island of Karpathos.
According to media information 1,121 tests conducted to tourists who arrived on July first were negative. A total of 5,889 tests were conducted at the airports on July 1, the first day regional airports re-launched operation, authorities

According to the Health Ministry statement on Thursday, of the total 3,458 cases, 785 are related to travel abroad, 1,914 are related to an already known case. The rest are not related to travel or another known case or are still under investigation.
8 patients are intubated in hospitals Intensive Care Units. Their average age is 60 years old, among them are 4 women. 87.5% of the patients have underlying health issues or are over 70 years old.
118 patients have been discharged from the ICUs since the beginning of the outbreak.
Number of coronavirus-related deaths stands at 192.
Among the deceased were 61 women.
The average age of the deceased was 76, and 95.8% had underlying health issues and/or were over 70 years old.
According to the Health Ministry, a total of 320,427 coronvirus tests have been conducted since beginning of the year, 5,508 (1.81%) were positive. The data include several tests conducted on a single patient, as well.
Authorities said in the morning that 5,889 test were conducted at the airports on July first, however, they announced 4,445 tests. It is either that tests results are still due or numbers are kind of mixed up.
