Main opposition left-wing SYRIZA has criticized the Greek government for a series of controversial measures amid a spike of coronavirus cases. SYRIZA describes the government decisions as creating an “unprecedented confusion.”
SYRIZA criticizes the government decision to ban religious festivals and at the same time to allow flights from countries with a pandemic outbreak.
“While the government is asking for a ban on the festivals due to the increase in the number of coronavirus cases, at the same time it is opening flights from countries facing a high spread of the virus, without pushing for tests before arriving at Greek airports,” SYRIZA said in a statement issued on Monday.
All this happens, after repeated regression in the tourism the statement adds.
“Without uniform epidemiological control criteria regardless of the ‘gateway’ and country of origin, the government decides without any explanation to abolish the mandatory use of the mask in shopping malls at a time when coronavirus cases are increasing daily,” the statement concludes.
