An earthquake hit with 4.4. on the Richter scale the island of Kefalonia in the Ionian Sea early Saturday morning. The epicenter was in the sea area, 17 km South-West of the island’s capital Argostoli.
The earthquake occurred at 4:38 a.m. and had a focal depth of 8.6 km.
The tremor was felt in the broader area.

There are no reports of injuries or material damage.
