3 Greek ministers in quarantine after meeting with foreign investor positive on Covid-19

Three government ministers have been placed in quarantine in their homes after a meeting with a foreign investor who was tested positive to Covid-19.

Investment and Development Minister Adonis Georgiadis, his deputy, Nikos Papathanasis and Shipping Minister Giannis Plpakiotakis  were sequestered to their homes on Thursday morning

The three ministers had a meeting at the Development Ministry with a group of foreign investors on Wednesday. Among those in the group was a person infected with the virus.

Georgiadis and Papathanasis were informed of the development early on Thursday morning, just hours after they were due to accompany Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on a visit to the northern port city of Thessaloniki.

According to media, the two ministers had had no contact with the prime minister after the meeting with the infected investor.

All three ministers are now being monitored by the National Organization for Public Health (EODY) and will have to remain in quarantine in their homes pending doctors’ orders. They will undergo a Covid-19 test.

According to information of website healthreport, the investor is of Israeli origin.

The meeting took place at the Ministry of Development in downtown Athens and during it everyone wore face masks and kept safety  distances.

But from the moment the investor informed them that he was positive, the ministers fully complied with the health protocol provisions of EODY, the website notes.
