Greek police arrested a police special guard and his accomplice for a robbery against a car dealer. The 22-year-old police officer was recent hired for the corps of the Special Guards.
The police officer had his 40-year-old accomplice had targeted a 37-year-old car dealer in the south suburbs of Athens for several days, while their first attempt to rob him failed.
On Monday morning, the perpetrators stopped the car dealer outside his store and forcibly drove him home. There they tied him up and snatched 40,000 euros.While they were escaping, the victim had reportedly come out to the balcony shouting “roberry”
According to daily ethnos, during their escape, the policeman threatened a citizen with a gun who tried to stop them.
The victim denounced to police that the special guard had threatened to “plant drugs” in his home, shouldn’t he give them the money, media reported.
However, the police arrested also the victim because a quantity of drugs and scales were found in his home.
The 37-year-old car dealer claimed that the drugs were placed by the perpetrators, a version that is being considered with reservation by the police officers who are conducting the investigation.
The 22-year-old special guard was recently recruited during the last recruitment process in the Hellenic Police and quickly attracted his colleagues’ attention due to his strange behavior.
He had allegedly moved a police light from the service and voluntarily inspected houses in the area of Kallithea, while he was assigned to service in another suburb. The result was to leave the units on motorcycle (DIAS) and to be assigned to another service and location.
The young policeman reportedly showed special interest in the security systems of houses.
