An earthquake measuring 5.3 on Richer scale struck in the sea area south off Crete at 7:28 p.m. on Friday evening. Its epicenter was 19 km south-west of Arvi and its focal depth 25 km.
Several seismological institutes gave also different magnitudes such as 5.2R, 5.3R, 5.5R and even 5.7R.
The tremor was felt in large parts of the island.

According to local media no injuries or material damages were recorded.
The Mayor of Faistos, the area affected by the earthquake, told neakriti, that there was no reports about any damages. He added that residents were relatively concerned but nothing to worry about.
