An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale rattled the island of Lefkada in the Ionian Sea on Thursday morning. It struck at 8:10 a.m. The epicenter was 15 km North-West of the island, its focal depth 10 km.

Other seismological institutes give the magnitude as 4.6 R.

No injuries or material damage have been reported from Lefkada.
Head of the Greek Earthquake Protection and Planning Authority Efthimios Lekkas appeared reassuring saying that the seismic activity was absolutely normal.
