Trial of man charged with Suzanne Eaton’s heinous murder starts on Crete

The trial of the man arrested for the brutal murder of  American scientist Suzanne Eaton on the island of Crete is scheduled to start in Rethymnon, tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13, 2020.

60-year-old Suzanne Eaton was abducted, raped and killed by a local man while she was jogging in Chania, on July 2, 2019.

The biologist  was in Chania to attend a conference at the Orthodox Academy.

She was first reported missing, her body was discovered in a cave part of a hidden German bunker from the WWII on July 8.

The 28-year-old was arrested a week later and has allegedly confessed to running her down with his car and then taking her to a nearby cave where he raped and killed her.

According to media, members of Eaton’s family will attend the trial.

The heinous murder has shocked the Greek society and was reported by many international media.
