Two teenager foreign nationals on vacation in Greece died and a third one was seriously injured while they were doing parasailing in the Lindos area of the island of Rhodes on Wednesday.
The accident happened when the ropes tying their surfboard to the kite broke, and they were thrown against the rocks on an islet located between Peykos and Lindos, local media reported.
Fire Brigades, Port Authorities and ambulances rushed to the spot, but for the two any help was too late. A third has been seriously injured and transferred to the hospital.
The victims are two 15-year-old boys from the UK, while the survivor is a 13-year-old girl, the sister of one of the victims, local newspaper dimokratiki reported.
Rhodes authorities investigate to determine the cause of the fatal accident.
Meanwhile, a case file has been reportedly filed against the boat pilot and the owner of the water sports business.

The information in this article is inherently incorrect. If they were “parasailing”, then there was no surfboard involved. They were being towed behind a boat attached to a parachute behind them.
If they had “surfboards” then they would have been wakeboarding, and would not have had a parachute.
