For second consecutive day, Greece registered a negative record regarding coronavirus deaths: 35 Covid-19 patients died in the past 24 hours, health authorities announced on Sunday evening. The daily new confirmed coronavirus cases are 1,914, however, with some 10,000 fewer tests than usual due to weekend. The number of intubations rose to 228, breaking another records in the country.
Eleven out of 55 elderly in total in a care home in Thessaloniki have been tested positive and so has one nurse who contaminated them as visits by relatives have been banned long ago.
Total cases have reached 56,698 and death toll 784.
Lockdown
The dramatic increase of infections, intubations and consequently deaths in the last 5 days forced the Greek government to impose a general lockdown as of Saturday, November 7, 2020, and for three weeks.

According to the official daily bulletin on Sunday, 4429 (7.8%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 15678 (27.7%) are related to already known infection case.
54.2% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs increased to 228 !!! from 207 day earlier. Their average age is 66, among them are 57 women. 88.2% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
323 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Thirty-five more deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 784. Of the deceased 316 were women. The average age of the deceased was 79 and 96.4% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.
Total tests since begin of outbreak are 1,926,544.
Tests in the last 24 hours: 15,112 with 12.67% of them positive. A good, normal number with less reason for concerns is when positive is below 2%.
