Greece’s National Meteorological Service and the National Observatory of Athens have issued a warning on the gradual weather deterioration with heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms, accompanied by powerful winds and local hail fall. The barometric low is forecast to especially affect the south of Greece and particularly the islands.
The weather deterioration is expected as of Wednesday evening, November 18. Intense weather phenomena are forecast to set in in the early morning hours of Thursday and continue until Friday, November 19-20, 2020.
The barometric low will cause rains and thunderstorms in the East Thessaly, Central Greece and the Peloponnese as well as in the Aegean. The phenomena in the Central and South Aegean will be intense.
The intense weather phenomena will affect particularly the Central and South Aegean Seas and especially the Cyclades, Crete and the Dodecanese.
In Crete, high rainfall heights are expected.

In the evening hours of Thursday,the weather phenomena will weaken in the Cyclades, and in the other areas as of Friday noon.
Wind
North-eastern winds in the Aegean Sea will gradually increase as of Wednesday, up to 5-7 Beaufort and up to 8 B in the Northern Aegean. The strong winds are forecast until the end of the week.
Up to 5-6 Bin the Ionian Sea.
Temperature
Temperature will show a gradual drop, which will be more noticeable on the weekend Nov 21-22.
