Greece’s health authorities announced on Friday, 1385 new coronavirus cases and another 102 deaths. The number of Covid-19 patients who are intubated stands at 583.
Death toll has reached 3,472 and the total cases stand at 122,648.
The daily confirmed cases are at levels of end October/begin of November before the government imposed the lockdown on Nov 7. the daily cases may be decreasing but the number of daily deaths remains dangerously high an so do the intubated patients.
These are also the reasons the government decided to not open retail stores over Christmas, but just hair-salons and bookstores. Retail stores will be possible to operate with click-away service.

According to the official daily bulletin on Friday, 5076(4.1%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 34774 (28.4%) are related to already known infection case.
The remaining infections are without known source.
52.6% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs stands at 583 from 571 a day earlier. Their average age is 66, among them are 169 women. 76.7% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
The number of intubated Covid-19 patients hardly surpasses 600 due to the capacity in the country’s hospitals.
711 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Another 102 deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 3472. Of the deceased 1392 (40.1%) were women. The average age of the deceased was 79 and 96.0% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.

Tests in the last 24 hours: 17,101 with 8.16% οf them positive. A good, normal number with less reason for concerns is when positive is below 2%.

93 of the new cases were detected at entry points; another 0 travelers already in the country sought laboratories after they developed symptoms.
