Greece’s health authorities announced on Wednesday, 509 new coronavirus cases and 25 more deaths in the last 24 hours. For the first time since months, the number of Covid-19 patients intubated in hospitals across the country fell below 300 and stands at 293.
Death toll has reached 5,570 and the total cases stand at 150,479 (!)

Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias said on birthday that the active cases in Greece are 5,881. Of them 2,404 are in Attica and 1,482 in Central Macedonia.
Despite the measures there are some 500 new infections per day. “These data causes concern, that’s why we insist on the maintenance of the measure for individual protection,” he stressed.
The majority of cases per 100,000 population are in Western Attica, Thasos and Viotia.
With 293 the number of intubated Covid-19 patients remains high. Of them 112 are aged 18-64.
Over 1,400 people are hospitalized with Covid-19, Kikillias added.

According to the official daily bulletin on Wednesday, 5813(3.9%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 46236 (63.7%) are related to already known infection case.
The remaining infections are without known source.
52.1% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs stands at 293 from 300 a day earlier. Their average age is 68, among them are 205(70%) men. 85.7% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
1,050 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Another 25 deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 5570. Of the deceased 3286(59.0%) were men. The average age of the deceased was 79 and 95.4% of them had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.
