Greece records 1113 new coronavirus cases, 29 more deaths

New coronavirus cases in Greece remain constantly four-digit as health authorities announced on Saturday evening 1,113 cases and 29 more deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of Covid-19 patients intubated in hospitals across the country stands at 249.

Death toll has reached 5,951 and the total cases stand at 163,213.

According to the official daily bulletin 6024 (3.7%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 51830 (62.9%) are related to already known infection case.

The remaining infections are without known source.

51.9% of the infected are men.

The number of intubated patients in ICUs stands at 249 from 246 a day earlier. Their average age is 69, among them are 185(74.3%) men. 86.3% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.

1,161 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.

Another 29 deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 5951. Of the deceased 3498(58.8%) were men. The average age of the deceased was 79 and 95.6% of them had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.

Rolling weekly average cases at 974 from 703 last week.

Of the 1113 new coronavirus cases, 12 were detected at the country’s entry points.

12 of the new cases were detected at entry points, plus 1 more travelers were already in the country.
