Itis only 10 days ago that Greece was down to less than 300 new cases per day. Wait until ctober when we will all be locked up again for 6 months !!!!
I am due to come to stay I sissi on the 6th of August from the UK, What do I need to show I have had 2 astra zenica vaccines do I need more tests, I’m 75 years and fit and healthy.
I wouldn’t bother we will all be in lockdown by then! Only 40% vaccinated and exponential cases ….do the maths! Many many expats not vaccinated at all. shame on greece.
I think you just need to show your vaccine certificate upon arrival. It’s possible the government will make people quarantine from the UK due to Delta, but maybe not. The airline should tell you what to do at that time. Rules keep changing.
Summer seeding of infections as in 2020, but with Greece starting from a much higher local baseline than 2020.
The increasing number of in country traveller cases is worrying as these will be the ones that felt ill enough to get tested/treated.
How many may have mild sniffles but not bothered testing because they are going home in a few days and don’t want to get quarantined.
September lockdown seems to be a real possibility.
But in fairness the positive traveler numbers don’t count towards the island they are on, just “travelers in country” as you say. So it’s cool for tourism. So if here in Kefalonia, if a coach load of tourists tests positive, Kefalonia scores zero cases (initially at least).
