Coronavirus deaths spiked to 51 in the last 24 hours, while the new confirmed infections in the same time stands at 1,608, Greece’s health authorities announced on Monday. The number of intubated Covid-patients in hospital Intensive Care Units remains high with 379 patients.

Αt the Vaccinations Live Briefing on Monday, health authorities said that vulnerable groups can directly proceed with the booster jab, however, the other groups expected to get the booster jab later, should proceed 6 to 9 months after the first shot.
Chairwoman of the National Vaccination Committee and Pediatrics professor Maria Theodoridou said that
- immune-compromised, those in nursing homes as well as those aged over 60 can receive the third jab even 4 weeks after the second jab.
General Secretary at the Health Ministry Marios Themistokleous said that the sending of sms to remind vulnerable and immune-compromised groups of the opening of the platform for the 3rd jab tomorrow already started on Monday.
285,000 citizens will receive these sms, he said adding that next to the two groups above also those with serious illnesses.
Themistokleous said that the full vaccination certificate has no expiration date.

A total of 379 Covid-patients – from 378 a day earlier – are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 64 years. 63.3% are men. 81.2% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or more.
According to EODY among the intubated patients:
342 (90.24%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated
37 (9.76%) are fully vaccinated

3,046 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.
183 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: -16.82%). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 208.
