2,046 coronavirus cases, 33 deaths, 331 intubations; distribution in Greece

Greece’s health authorities announced on Friday 2,046 new coronavirus cases and 33 deaths in the past 24 hours.  The number of intubated Covid-patients in hospital Intensive Care Units stands at 331.

Since the pandemic began, Greece has confirmed 643,055 infections (daily change: +0.3%)

In the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 128 infections are related to travel abroad and 3487 to other confirmed cases.

50.9% of the infected are men.

There are 33 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, the total of pandemic victims 14,639.  Of these, 95.4% had an underlying condition and/or were 70 years old.

A total of 331 Covid-patients – from 331 a day earlier – are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 65 years. 65% are men. 81% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or more.

According to EODY among the intubated patients:

298 (90.03%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated

33 (9.97%) are fully vaccinated

According to EODY, intubated Covid-patients based on age group are:

  • 0-17  :   0
  • 18-39: 12
  • 40-64: 150
  • 65+  : 169

3,122 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.

216 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: +33.33%). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 190..

The median age of new infections is 39 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 78 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).

Of the 2,046  new cases, 8 were detected at the entrance gates of the country and 5 among travelers already in the country.
