Greece tightens restrictions for unvaccinated citizens: RAPID TEST RULE

Greece restricts access to unvaccinated citizens in a series of activities including non-essential shopping and work if they cannot prove with a negative RAPID or PCR test that they are not infected with the coronavirus. A negative test will not be necessary to  access churches, supermarkets and pharmacies.

The measures will go into force on Saturday, November  6, 2021, across the whole of Greece and not just in “very high risk” regions.

On the day coronavirus infections hit a new record with 6,700 cases confirmed in past 24 hours, Health Minister Thanos Plevris announced that unvaccinated citizens across the country will need to show a negative RAPID or PRC test to enter:

  • banks
  • public services
  • retail shops
  • restaurants and entertainment facilities
  • hairdressers

In addition, unvaccinated workers in private and public sector incl those working in worship places will have to undergo a RAPID test twice per week at their own expenses. Until now it was once per week.

At a Live briefing on Tuesday evening, MinisterThanos Plevris said that the restrictions will apply to unvaccinated citizens as they are much more at risk to get infected and there must be measures to protect them.”
He called on citizens, whether vaccinated or not, to wear masks when there is crowding.

He also announced that fines for breaking the rules will be increased, warning that there will be “zero tolerance for those who admit unvaccinated people” without tests into spaces covered by the rules.

Owners of businesses who break the rules will have to deal with a fine of €5,000 and the shut down of their business for 10 days.

First reactions to the new measures is “stunning” with business-owners like hairdressers telling media that it is not easy for them to make such controls, including the checking of fake test results and fake vaccination certificates.

The Health Ministry has still to elaborate on the Test-requirements, like a period of time a test is valid and if it extends also to other services like nailsaloons etc.

PS Is the RAPID Test the panacea to stop the dramatic increase of the coronavirus in the country or is it just another punitive measure that will cost the unvaccinated at least 100 euro per month?

One need only to take into consideration the exception in churches, the fact that young children are not vaccinated, have RAPID test twice a week and that a class shuts down only if 50%+1 pupil are infected with Covid-19, the absence of mandatory vaccination to police and armed forces and the clergy.

Do the maths….

It was also the health Minister who said earlier today: “In churches covid-transmission is not easy, but in restaurants it is.”

Unfortunately, it is the votes that dictate the health measures the conservative government takes and not the science. It is apparently the faith that does not transmit the virus during the Holy Communion where dozens share a common spoon.

On second thought, the Greek government has made it official habit to announce every June that it has won the pandemic and every November a new plan to deal with the new wave of coronavirus.

  1. Kirche ausgenommen. Verstehe ich nicht??

  2. So, RAPID test? Whether it is a rapid antigen test or a rapid test sold at a pharmacy? Does anyone know?

  3. Funny how we had predicted all this back in June when the restrictions were lifted and people were allowed to move freely, everywhere.

  4. ” It is apparently the faith that does not transmit the virus during the Holy Communion where dozens share a common spoon.” In addition, this virus is very intelligent. Consider, when the curfew was on, it stayed away until AFTER the curfew time – THEN it came out!

Also, in the UK, it “attacked” people who were walking to their tables (they had to wear masks) but, as soon as they sat down, they were safe! Until they walked to the toilet. THEN, it attacked unless the people wore a mask….

As I say, very intelligent virus. More intelligent than the people who are believing the government diktats…..

  5. What about children ? I have an 11-year old who does two self tests a week for school. Now, if I want to take her clothes shopping, she needs a rapid test to enter the store? Did they mention anything about the rules for children?

It’s pointless if we all go to supermarket, and almost everyone’s goes everyday unless you live outside city.
So to me it’s just trickery to get me jabbed. I stay unvaccinated, doesn’t matter how hard they try or cry.
If shop retail shop owners are smart they put someone outside the store to help you get your things.

  7. Of the total patients on intubation, 370 (85.25%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated and 64 (14.75%) are fully vaccinated.

If that simple fact that is repeated daily does not persuade you that getting a jab is a better idea than not getting a jab then there is no hope for the world.

What are you so scared of – the needle or the thought that you are being told to do something? You are not being asked to murder your child but simply to get vaccinated so that you are less likely to end up face down on a trolley with a tube shoved up your throat whilst wasting the valuable time of doctors and nurses…. and undertakers.

  8. When we were kids, we got vaccinated against POLIO, TYPHOID,MEASALS, and when we got badly cut, a TETANUS jab…..We took these injections on FAITH…. Faith in the doctors, not in biblical beings….. You have eaten gyros meat, a frankfurter or a burger.. You eat these things, not having the faintest idea of what they contain.. Yey you eat them with FAITH & TRUST…… For crying out loud, GET VACCINATED NOW…..You know it makes sense….

    • I was telling people over a year ago that this would be happening.
There’s too many sheep and not enough wolves

  9. Watch out Keep #talking Greece. Your bias is showing.

  10. Just get vaccinated everyone!

  11. Anyone who doesn’t have a valid medical exemption and is unvaccinated is a damn fool.

  12. I just love his quote. Very telling he isn’t following the studies. – MinisterThanos Plevris said that the restrictions will apply to unvaccinated citizens as they are much more at risk to get infected and there must be measures to protect them.” – Like the vaxx’ed don’t carry and transmits this CCP virus; they go out carrying it cuz they do not show the symptoms so they think all is ok; where as the un-vaxx’ed show symptoms and hence they stay home to recover and of course to keep the public safe.

  13. Endlich hört man etwas positives von der orthodoxen Kirchenführung. Respekt. Hoffentlich hilft’s.

  14. Can anyone tell me how long a rapid negative test is valid for? So many of us would like to hear it from the horse’s mouth.
