Proastiakos train derails with 75 passengers, Piraeus-Renti line temporarily closed

A train of Suburban Railway Proastiakos derailed  on Wednesday evening at the station of Renti in Piraeus. 75 passengers were onboard.The PIraeus-Renti line was temporarily closed, operator TrainOSE said in a statement.

Nobody was injured during the incident and all 75 passengers disembarked in safety.

According to TrainOSE, the derailed train No 1323 was operating in the route from Kiato to Piraeus.

However, there are delays in the line’s routes to-and-from Piraeus, and delays are also expected in the departure of intercity train 58 to Thessaloniki.
