The Panhellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) announced an extension of the 48-hour sailors’ strike for all categories of ships until December 13, 2021.
The extension strike starts at 00:01 on Sunday, December 12, and ends at midnight on Monday, December 13, state run news agency amna reports on Saturday evening.
The 48-hour strike started at 00:01 on Friday, December 10, and is scheduled to end at midnight Saturday, December 11, 2021.
Note that on Sunday might be disruptions in the sea travel due to gale-force winds of up to 9 Beaufort and locally up to 10 B, as the National Meteorological Service has warned.

PNO is demanding wage increases in the collective bargaining agreements for 2020-2021 and solutions to problems relating to social insurance, pensions, education, unemployment, undeclared work and many others.
The union accuses the employer side of “stonewalling” and refusing to improve its “negative position” or offer real wage increases to seamen.
