President honors the thousands of Greek Jews who perished during the Holocaust

On the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou honored the victims. At an event for the Day of Remembrance of Greek Jewish Martyrs and Heroes of the Holocaust, Sakellaropoulou said:

“The Holocaust concerns us all, not just the Jewish people. It reveals the naked face of evil and constantly puts our moral conscience to the test.”

Laying a wreath at the Holocaust Memorial for Greek Jews in Thisseio district of Athens, the President stressed that the message “Never Again” was a call to actively remember and turn memory into action, to ponder on the reasons that gave rise to nazism, racism and antisemitism and every kind of prejudice and prevent such crimes from ever happening again.

“Only then will ‘Never Again’ take on its true meaning,” she added.

Referring to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, President Sakellaropoulou noted that the day was also a day to remember tens of thousands of Greek Jews that perished at that time, wiping out a significant part of Greece’s multicultural tradition and almost the entire Jewish communities of Thessaloniki, Ioannina and Corfu.

  1. Lest we forget an extra decade of despair that was brutal, punishing, and unnecessary for a trade and emissions cheat of a nation who does not repay their own loans as promised but forces them only one way.

They sell arms to Turkey while claiming to represent (as the most dominant EU member) a Europe that they already tried to destroy, twice. They do not want to sanction these old partners in genocidal crimes any more than support the west with sanctions against Russia.

I do not believe in miracles let alone a “german miracle”. Today they have regrouped to become the greatest financial power in Europe and heaven help Europe.
